If you’ve just joined me from Collette Cameron’s blog, welcome!
This week in the Romance Writer’s Weekly blog hop it’s going to be a short but sweet post as we’re doing something a little different. The question we have to answer this time is what is our favourite seasonal dish.
Well for me at this time of year it has to be a traditional British roast. So for me that’s roast chicken or turkey with roast potatoes and parsnips (I absolutely ADORE roast parsnips!) with carrots and stuffing, as well as some greens like cabbage or sprouts.
Why not go and check out Elizabeth Janette’s blog now and read what she has to say about her favourite seasonal dish?
Sounds great. Similar in a way to mine, which isn’t surprising since Newfoundland is far more British and Irish than any place I know of.

Thanks Victoria. It’s interesting to me what you say about your food being British. I wouldn’t have known that. I eat a lot of American style food but also some Chinese, Indian and Mexican to name a few. We’re quite eclectic in our eating preferences over here! π

I don’t believe I’ve ever had roasted parsnips, or parsnips at all. Are they similar to white turnips (not rutabagas… π )?

Parsnips are related to carrots and parsley. If you ever get the chance you should have some. They’re delicious! π

Yes, it’s a great time of year for them. Makes those long, dark winter evenings seem a little cheerier. π
