My own domain name!!

Domain name

I’ll keep this short today because I’ve got quite a lot of things to do, but I thought I’d just tell you that I’ve gone and got myself my own domain name!! My blog is now: although I’m fairly certain you can still reach it through

Anyway to coin a phrase which I’ve heard being bandied about the blog world, I’m SUPER EXCITED! OK so maybe it’s not that big a deal, but for me it’s so lovely to see my blog address even more specific to me than it was before. And I’ve got in quick before anyone else can grab ‘‘!

So from now on I’ll be using my new domain name. I’ve updated my Twitter account and at the moment I don’t have any other website details to update. I’m on Facebook, but I don’t have an author page (yet) and I rarely use it. I’ve been hearing from various people about Pinterest and how good it is, maybe I should give that a try??

I should say something else before I go because it doesn’t happen very often: It’s sunny and warm in the UK at the moment!! Or at least it is in Bristol anyway. And I tell you it doesn’t get much better than this weather-wise in the UK at least. I’m happy anyway that winter is finally OVER. šŸ™‚ It only went on for about 7 months (or it felt like that long anyway!). I know that for some of my blog followers winter is just beginning. But I guess we’ve all got to have our turn at winter weather. OK some parts of the globe never have winter, but you get what I’m saying.

I’m looking forward to the coming week which will see me take part in WIPpet Wednesday and Thursday’s Children again. šŸ™‚ Hope wherever you are in the world that your Sunday is peaceful.

  1. If you don’t mind, what steps did you go through to add the domain name? I have one but I’ve been holding off on incorporating it because I’ve been confused about whether or not I have to find somewhere else to host it too…Surely it’s not that complicated right?

  2. Well I may have to ask my husband that question because he did it all for me! From what I understand though, he set it up via a third party website, which dealt with UK domain names, but then you have to register with it WordPress as well. There’re a number of steps you have to go through. My husband thought he’d done that but it still wasn’t showing the domain name on WordPress, but then he tweaked it and it did. You have to give it 24 hours before it’ll show the domain name anyway, because it takes that long for the new address to be recognised on the web. If you want a more precise explanation, I can ask my husband and get back to you!

  3. Congratulations on the domain name – I managed to get mine via WordPress but that means it’s a .com name rather than a – not sure how important that is? And yes, have enjoyed the weather this weekend, still a bit chilly but had a fab birthday so I’m happy! Hope you enjoyed your weekend too.

    1. I don’t think it matters – I just rather fancied having the being British etc. It was quite hot some of this weekend in Bristol but yes chilly at times. Glad you had a good birthday. šŸ™‚

  4. It’s great to have your own domain name. šŸ™‚ Love that you’re super excited! The weather has been gorgeous, hasn’t it – I just hope it lasts! šŸ™‚

    1. Yes it is great, makes it so much more personal to me. šŸ™‚ Shame about the good weather tailing off a bit…let’s hope it’s nice again next weekend. See you Thursday.x
